Argela sponsors the 2008 Number Portability event in Budapest
July 26, 2008

Argela was the co-sponsor and a key participant in the 2008 Number Portability event in Budapest.  This year’s event was held on September 15 through 19 and the theme was ‘Successfully Implementing and Evolving Fixed and Mobile Number Portability and Assessing the Future of Number Portability in Next Generation, Converged and VOIP Networks.’

Argela Solution Delivery Manager Alev Gulsun presented ‘Countdown to MNP in Turkey: The Solution Provider’s Perspective’ and hit the high points of the differentiators of the Argela Number Portability Solution and how it created value for Avea , one of the leading mobile operators in Turkey.

“This year’s event had an excellent line up of speakers, presentations, exhibitions as well as delegates representing 40+ companies. Regulators, operators, and technology /service providers had an opportunity to share their vision, best practices and lessons learned during the event. Number Portability is a complex solution with many touchpoints . Being aware of this challenge, Argela remains to be a solid solution provider with great interest and full commitment in helping regulators and operators achieve their goals through passion, flexibility, agility and operational excellence.” said Ercan Yilmaz, Argela Vice President of International Business Development, who chaired the first day of the conference.

Entertainment services or more specifically the IPTV service could become a turning point in operators’ long term strategy. We believe that the differentiating factor amongst the emerging IPTV operators will be the converged and ubiquitous services offered by them.

Argela brought value to Cell C, not only with their technical expertise, but also through teaming with us, and their driving contribution in all phases of the project. We’d definitely like to continue our co-operation with Argela in future projects.
